Hi everyone,
Well it's been awhile and I apologise for my lack of writing... I'm excited to see my new single "Everything But You" out to radio. Daniel Reisinger who directed the Twisted video is responsible for this new video also and the poor bastard had to do some creative filming around a broken pinky finger! I'm also looking forward to heading back to the The Basement for another show in November and I have Jade Macrae performing that night also. I've also announced another Palms show in Melbourne (with Jade) and heading up to Qld to tan or burn my Irish skin over the hot December period. What else have I been up to? Let me see..
Performed for Breast Cancer and Dove on Saturday night which was a blast... I've been writing some new songs with some exciting new people of late... inspiring!! I'm heading to Adelaide soon for a charity performance so if you see me come say hi… And I'm looking forward to heading back to Ireland to see the family sometime in December... but we will be chatting before then so until then...
Take care and best,
Brian, x27|10|08
Brian went pink for Breast Cancer - plus see him on GNW tonight!
At this year's Dove Pink Star Walk, there was a whole lot of pink, a whole lot of support and a little Brian McFadden - and his performance was much appreciated by the crowd after their walk all the way through town for breast cancer awareness. New Tour Dates Announced - and a new single!
Brian returns to Australia for the Set In Stone Tour which kicks off in Hobart on November 14th and will see McFadden perform at venues along the East Coast. New dates have now been announced for The Palms in Melbourne, an Australia Zoo gig in QLD, as well as a date on the Gold Coast. The tour announcement falls on the eve of a new and third single titled Everything But You at radio from next week!
Everything But You was written by Brian and Jez Ashurst and is about a guy who has everything in life: except he still can't have the only thing he really wants - the woman he loves. Brian tells of the writing process; "We wrote this song in London one rainy afternoon. We knew after writing the chorus that we'd written something special. I hope my fans enjoy it and find a place for it to belong in their lives."

Hi everyone,
So this week - my new single Twisted is out at radio - I've only got a few more days left on Austereo breakfast and I've just nearly killed myself on my video shoot for Twisted.. and I'm in the thick of shooting Football Superstar! - huh! - apart from that been a fairly quiet week!
Hope you get my new song Twisted soon - it's already been getting picked up on radio here in Australia which I'm absolutely stoked about.. Also been having a blast with Michaela and Cosi on Austereo breakfast - up at 4.30am is nearly killing me but enjoying radio very much as I am TV and my new TV show Football Superstar premiers on Thursday night on FOX8 so please tune in..
So over the last few days we've shot my new video for Twisted with director Daniel Reisinger and without wrecking it for you - I'm a clown; I get arrested amongst other things. On the set the handcuffs got stuck on my wrist so much that it nearly broke! I also managed to fall into a policecar window and smash it..Anyway loved every second of it and think it's going to be a complimentary video to Twisted.. Thanks to everyone who came down to be extras - it's not as exciting as fast paced as I'm sure you might of expected but appreciate those guys and gals who sat around and waited patiently for their time!
Stay twisted,
Cheers,
Brian..

BRIAN McFADDEN + AXLE WHITEHEAD GET TO THE BASE OF IT!
Brian McFadden and Axle Whitehead have joined forces for a double bill in what is set to be a fantastic couple of nights of music at the legendary and recently refurbished The Basement. These will be Brian's first shows in Australia performing work from the recently released sophomore solo album Set In Stone.
These shows will also be Axle's first ever performance of material from his forthcoming debut album Losing Sleep, which is scheduled for release mid-August.
Set In Stone is the new solo album from Brian McFadden, released here in Australia before anywhere else in the world. This week it debuted nationally at No. 5 on the Motorola ARIA Album Chart! It is the follow-up to the Dublin-bred singer/songwriter's 2004 solo debut, Irish Son, which topped both the British and European record charts. Brian has adopted Australia as a second home.
Internationally, Brian McFadden is one of the most successful performers and songwriters of his generation. Prior to going solo, he was a member of the phenomenally popular boy band Westlife. In 2004, Brian decided it was time to step away from Westlife and pursue a career as a solo singer and songwriter releasing Irish Son.
Brian McFadden said "These will be my first lot of solo shows for this album, and I can't wait to share them first with the Australian audience before anywhere else! Playing at the legendary Basement just makes it all the more special!"
Forget what you think you already know about Axle Whitehead. Axle is, first and foremost, and has always been, a musician in the purist sense of the word. His stunning debut album, Losing Sleep will showcase him as a serious singer/songwriter, as well as a skilled vocalist and inventive musician.
His first single from the album, I Don't Do Surprises, debuted into the ARIA Top 10 and has been a radio smash, hitting the No. 1 spot on the Most Played Australian songs nationally. The Basement shows will be the first time that he gets to perform this song live to an audience.
Axle seconded Brian's sentiments saying "The Basement is one of the finest venues in Sydney to play and watch live music. I've always had fantastic gigs there. Great sound, great bar, can't wait to get back and play some of the songs from my album. It will also be great to share the stage with Brian."
BRIAN McFADDEN / AXLE WHITEHEAD and introducing Penny Phillips:

THE BASEMENT, 29 Reiby Place, Circular Quay28|04|08

You have made the album debut at #5 in Australia and I am just so thankful and appreciative to every single one of you for this.
I'm off to New Zealand tomorrow then back in Australia to further promote the album and to start shooting my new TV show Football Superstar on Fox8!

"Like Only A Woman Can"
Like Only A Woman Can' is the debut single from Irish singer/songwriter Brian McFadden set for release in Australia on March 22nd. Having spent much of the past year in the dark of the studio, but never far from the limelight, 'Like Only A Woman Can' is the lead track from McFadden's soon to be released sophomore solo album titled 'Set In Stone'.'Like Only A Woman Can' is an open and frank song paying tribute to his love and gratefulness for his fiancé and muse, Australian singer/songwriter Delta Goodrem, whom he attributes to guiding him to find redemption and artistic focus. 'It is a song about Delta', explains Brian, 'but equally it's me admitting the mistakes of my past, while looking forward to the future'.
'Like Only A Woman Can' was one of the first of the 150-odd songs that Brian wrote on the way to creating 'Set In Stone'. In recent months Brian has collaborated with numerous luminaries including Guy Chambers (Robbie Williams, Tina Turner, World Party), Egg White (James Morrison) and Phil Thornalley (Natalie Imbruglia, The Cure). The net result is a more mature artist than we have previously known. Brian claims that he has never been happier and more driven. "Right now is the best place I've been in my life. I'm really enjoying writing and recording the album and personally things have never been better!"
An exclusive licensing deal with the recently launched Island Records Australia has led to the unique situation where Australia will be the first country to release the new album.
'Set In Stone' is the follow up to McFadden's 2004 solo album debut, 'Irish Sun', which secured the coveted #1 album position in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Holland and Belgium. 'Irish Sun' heralded three UK Top 10 hits, including the debut single, 'Real To Me' and the worldwide hit duet 'Almost Here' with Goodrem. Brian has also been critically recognised with his song 'Demons' being featured in the hit US TV series 'Lost'. In addition, he has also written songs for artists as diverse as Il Divo and Girls Aloud as well as co-writing the theme song 'Together We Are One' for the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
Internationally, Brian McFadden is one of the most successful performers of his generation. Prior to going solo, he was a member of the phenomenally successful boyband Westlife, a group that sits alongside U2 as the most successful music act ever to come out of Ireland. Westlife hold the record for the most number one singles in a row on the UK charts ever - seven. They had a total of 12 number one singles during Brian's time in the group, plus four number one albums, selling in excess of 30 million albums.
